Renovation and Extension
- Payneham South

A rear extension was being added to this home. Fixtures, fittings and materials were needed for the extension, as well as furniture and the renovation and modernisation of the original part of the home.

The vision is for a classic, relaxed, and comfortable home with a welcoming vibe,  that feels finished and complete, and will be viable for sale in the future.

Enhancing  the value of this appealing property and future proofing the home is important. This means  creating an accommodating home for them to be comfortable to live, enjoy hobbies and  interests, and entertain groups of family and friends. Creating a welcoming feel to their  refreshed classic interior that won’t feel dated in 10 years’ time is vital. With lots of greenery, beautiful kitchen and comfortable surroundings that feel relaxed and done/finished.

The original home was built in 1925. It is a character stone- fronted bungalow. It is neither heritage listed, nor does it have historical significance. It currently comprises 2 bedrooms and 2  bathrooms. Renovations were done to the bathroom and an extension to create a master suite completed 5 years ago.

The current rear extension will provide for a Lounge/Kids retreat, ensuite to the second bedroom, Laundry and open plan Living/Dining/Kitchen, plus an outdoor alfresco area.

The new addition requires selection of all fixtures, fittings, materials and furniture. The feeling of light will need to be enhanced in this addition. Selection of a new colour scheme that maximises the feeling of brightness and helps to create the desired feeling in each space.

The interiors in the original part of the house require renovating and refreshing to feel cohesive with the more modern addition. Furnishing the entre house to be cohesive while blending current antique pieces with new contemporary classics.

Fixtures, fittings and some flooring needs replacing or repairing and new storage solutions are required.

Fireplace to be uncovered, renovated and replaced with electric fire for function and a pleasing aesthetic.

New lighter colour scheme to create more light throughout and bring a bright feeling.

Creation of a Children's Retreat in the new extension that doubles as a gaming room and cinema with a sense of drama brought to it by dark colours.

Added bench space in the kitchen with a home office hub. Using colour to create focal points on the back wall and hero the island with two toned cabinets.

Created a focal point of the renovated fireplace in the lounge and create cosiness with oversized armchair and natural light.

Updated laundry to be functional and maximise storage.
